I am excited to serve in a church and on a staff team with a mission and vision to make more and better disciples of Jesus. I desire to serve the church, using my gifts and strengths in preaching, teaching, equipping, and encouraging.

I grew up in the Seattle area, living in Bellevue, Redmond, Kirkland, and currently reside in Bothell, where we have lived for fourteen years. I have been married 23 years, and we have three teen-age children. My hobbies include Crossfit training, golfing, and fishing.

Ministry Experience

NORTHSIDE CHURCH, Snohomish, WA – January 2009-June 2012
Church Planter and Lead Pastor
Successfully provided comprehensive leadership for a three-month launch process that included casting vision, determining location, recruiting ministry leaders, securing Sunday morning service facilities, securing ministry office space, developing branding and promotional materials, planning and executing pre-launch rallies, and implementing essential ministries for children, youth, adults, evangelism, and discipleship.

As Lead Pastor, prepared and preached weekly sermons. Recruited and led an Administrative Council for financial oversight and accountability. Recruited, trained, and served as the leader of the Eldership.
Recruited and trained leaders of ministry teams for children’s, youth, adult evangelism and discipleship, community outreach, and missions.

CANYON HILLS COMMUNITY CHURCH, Bothell, WA — September 1995-December 2008
Worship and Youth Pastor, Community Outreach Pastor
Assisted in planting Canyon Hills, including coordinating pre-launch rallies, recruiting and training teams for set-up, tear down, worship, and first impressions.
As Youth Pastor, cast vision for ministry philosophy and strategy, recruited and trained teams of adult youth ministry leaders, and taught lessons until a Youth Pastor was hired.
As Worship Pastor, cast vision for worship philosophy and strategy. Planned and led weekly worship services. Recruited and led vocal, instrumental, and technical teams. Recorded one worship album. Led seasonal outreach services, and led a strategic ministry initiative to partner and strengthen an inner city congregation’s worship and outreach efforts.

Took a ministry leave from October 2003 – October 2006. Rehired as Worship Pastor in October 2006, then selected as the new Community Outreach Pastor in January 2008.

As Community Outreach Pastor, cast vision, developed and led Sharing Hope, a new ministry to equip people with meaningful and effective service and support of a local food bank, prison ministry, women’s shelter, crisis pregnancy clinic, and families in need. Provided shepherding and strengthening of Car Care, Widows, Assimilation, Evangelism, Baptism, and New Member ministries. Recruited teachers for Adult Education classes. Updated and taught Christian Foundations. Selected as Church Planter in January 2009.

MARKETPLACE MINISTRY, Greater Seattle Area – October 2003-October 2006
Managed banking centers for Bank of America. Taught at Puget Sound Christian College. Worked at Nordstrom in retail sales. Re-hired at Canyon Hills in November 2006.

OVERLAKE CHRISTIAN CHURCH, Kirkland, WA — June 1989-August 1995
Assistant Worship Pastor
Shared in leading worship for main services and other church ministries. Recruited and trained children’s and youth choir directors. Conducted church orchestra. Recruited, trained, and led various cross-cultural, short-term mission teams. Assisted in planning and execution of major church productions at Christmas, Easter, and 4th of July. Selected as Music and Youth Pastor for Canyon Hills Church Plant in September 1995.
